Why do I get emails like this?
I know I ask for guest bloggers. I love guest bloggers. I love good content and I love supporting other blogs. But the majority of responses I get are like this one (I’ve deleted any identifiers):
Hello Alexis,
I’m —- —- a content writer loves writing articles as a hobby on topics related to Nannies. What if I provide you with an unique article for your site as a Guest Post without any charges. In return I’ll be asking for a backlink to my website —- —- “. As “—- —-” is an attempt to reach more qualified nannies looking for work.
I’m sure after reading this you would definitely love to know more about my writing style. Please have a look on some of my writing samples:

It would be a pleasedful moment for me to see your positive respond on my offer. I will wait for your reply.
Thanking you,

There are at least, I don’t know, a dozen things wrong with that email. And this is from a writer with English as her first language?
And why do I always get emails from the Nanny bloggers?
I’m taking down my page asking for guest posts. Gah.

Pleasedful has potential, I think. Pleasureful has sexual connotations, but pleasedful has a wholesome feel to it.
Well I can’t argue that.
I don’t think it has anything to do with asking for guest bloggers. I’ve gotten those emails, although thank goodness they’ve stopped. It’s spam.
I thought so, too, but I never received them before I started asking for guest bloggers. *shrug*
I get these types of emails too. I’ve written back, not wanting to be rude, but I suppose it’s spammish and need not be replied to.
I write back with something brief, because I learned that when I don’t, the same person continues to send me a similar proposition every few weeks.
I just get spammers registering and then going away in disgust when they find out that comments are moderated. It got to be so bad that I just installed a plugin to block them. It’s blocked over 300 so far.
You’d think the fact that you must register would warn them before they even bothered.
I had to get rid of the plugin, since it was also blocking some of my legitimate commenters from commenting. So, now I’m back to going in once a week or so and deleting all the spammer registrations.
Can I has post a guest blog? I am a banker in the middle East and a gentlemanly man died and left $500000000 USd, which I would like to share with a random person, rather than keeping it for myself. If you could help me…
Hahaha. Michael, I love your guest posts and your spam!
